It was inaugurated in August 1923 and then hosted the matches of the Cercle Athlétique Messin.

It is the property of the City of Metz.

The Stade Saint-Symphorien is located Boulevard Saint-Symphorien, in Longeville-lès-Metz ( see the accesses and car parks nearby ).

THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE STADIUM

During its history, it has changed its face on several occasions and in particular:

  • 1923 : Inauguration
  • 1953 : Installation of lighting
  • 1962 : Renovation of the old main stand
  • 1976 : Construction of the current Sud-Moselle Tribune
  • 1987 : Construction of the current North Tribune
  • 1999 : Renovation of the West Tribune
  • 2001 : Renovation of the East Stand

  • Current commercial capacity: 24,985 seats seating
  • Attendance record: 28,766 spectators on 12/07/1991 during a FC Metz – Olympique de Marseille match
  • Classification: Level 1 (according to the standards and classifications of the French Football Federation)
  • Lighting: 2583 Lux
  • 19 refreshments including: 14 traditional catering outlets, 3 chip shops, 2 kebaberies
  • 1 restaurant : « Le Tifo » located in the North Stand, open outside match days for lunch from Monday to Friday.
  • 1,500 seats and 6 VIP areas : the individual Lodges, the Central Lodge, the Galerie des Loges, the Carré Grenat, the Business Club and the Sport Palace
  • 4 reserved car parks : Red car park , Blue car park , Grenat car park , Orange car park .

  • March 26, 1996 : Match France – Germany (Espoirs), UEFA qualifying match
  • May 31, 2005 : First match of the France A team,  France – Hungary (A), UEFA friendly match
  • June 3, 2006 : Match Luxembourg – Portuga l (A)
  • July 11, 2006 : Concert by Johnny Hallyday (Flashback Tour)
  • October 10, 2007: First meeting of a sport other than football, France rugby match – African Selection (Hopes)
  • October 15, 2008 : Match France – Germany (U21), UEFA qualifying match
  • June 6, 2009 : Concert by Johnny Hallyday
  • October 12, 2010 : France – Luxembourg (A) match, UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying match
